Well, we've had an interesting week. Desi has been sick with a cold for a little while. It started a little after Christmas and went through New Year's. I finally called the doctor after being sick and tired of Desi being sick and tired. They got us in on Wednesday. The doctor took one look at her and knew something was wrong. He sent me to the hospital to have her tested for RSV. After waiting 5 hours for the test results, they came back negative. So the doctor diagnosed her with bacterial pneumonia. PNEUMONIA????? WHAT??? My poor little baby. They prescribed her an antibiotic and told me to get her on it ASAP. They also told me to watch her very closely for breathing difficulties and fever. Later that night, we gave her the medicine and suddenly her lips went a little blue. I put her in the tub to see if it was because she was cold or if it was because she couldn't breathe. That's when the fever started. At about 7:00, she had a fever of 103.5. So we thought we would see if it would go away with some Motrin. All night she still had a fever so at 4:00 a.m. we took AnnaBelle to my mom's house and headed for the E.R. When we arrived, they took her temperature and it was 104.7. They did test X-Rays and determined that it was pneumonia. They gave her an antibiotic shot and fever reducer. When we left the hospital 5 hours later, her fever was at 102.3. Our instructions were to continue with her meds and give her Tylenol if the fever comes back and if the fever doesn't respond to Tylenol, to bring her back in. They also have been testing her oxygen levels all week at the doctors. WOW! Crazy huh? One minute I thought she just had a bad cold.....and then whatdaya know???!!!!!
She is doing much better now but we are to keep her indoors and away from people since her immune system is down right now. She is so sweet though and has never stopped smiling (well.....except for when she was in the X-Ray device. She did not like that. She looked at me like "Why aren't you doing anything? Why are you allowing this to happen?") We'll keep you posted on her progress.

Oh no! Poor little Desi. I can't believe she is almost a year old! I hope she gets better soon and that everything will turn out okay.
Oh my Goodness. That is totally crazy. Poor little Desi. I cant even imagine. Glad that she is doing better. Hope she gets completely well again. Miss ya guys You should come down and visit. My mom has two empty bedrooms now. that would be a blast to have you guys come down for a while. dont cha think?
That would be SO fun. We've been thinking about it lately. We need to come down while the weather is nice there and crappy here!! Right now?????
How sad I'm glad that she's doing better! Daniel was diagnosed with RSV a few days ago, the winter weather is so hard sometimes, I'm glad that Desi was happy the whole time!
I am glad that she is feeling better. It is hard to have your baby sick. You need to be in our 80 degree weather in Oklahoma. Oh wait it changed today it is only in the 50's. I hope that she continues to get better.
I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope she is doing better, that is so scary. We haven't had any horrible sicknesses yet with Lincoln, I don't think I could handle it. I think that will be the hardest part of being a mom, seeing your kids sick and not being able to help. Good luck with everything, I hope all is well.
ok, thanks. Yah i totally put in the wrong blog address. but i changed it. the correct blog address is jojosspitrags.blogspot.com
