Time-out

Noah put me in time-out today because I said a bad word (butthole.) That's a word we don't say in our house. AnnaBelle told me I have to sit in time-out for a long time because I'm so old. Her time-outs are 3 1/2 minutes because that's how old she is. My time-out on the stairs was 27 minutes. Rrrrrrr!

Random

So last night, AnnaBelle slept in my room with me because Noah went to St. George for a couple of days. I wasn't sleeping well anyway because I don't like when Noah's gone. It's just a weird fear of mine. That I am helpless. At about 3:00 a.m. I heard some talking outside my window. Of course when you are delirious and tired, you freak out and wonder what the heck is going on. I looked through the blinds and saw a couple of guys with flashlights. They were yelling "Noah......Noah." It was so weird. I thought I was dreaming for a little bit but they kept yelling it. Finally my mind started to become clear when I watched them go into my neighbor's yard across the street. They went inside the house. That's when I remembered, our neighbors have a dog named Noah.

WHAT???

What the crap is going on? Alexandrea? Aliana? Robbie? I am all about Jason Y. leaving but.....really? What about Amanda and Danny? So bad! Hopefully next week. I WILL boycot the show if they make it in top 12. I don't mind Kady so much but she didn't do well this week. RRRRRRRR I hate (love) American Idol!

Feb 27th Idol

The girls are up now. Here are my thoughts:

Carly Smithson- Amazing voice, didn't love the song.

Syesha Mercado- Boring song, great voice. No scarf?

Brooke White- I thought it was pretty good. Her hair wasn't as cute tonight :(

Ramiele Malubay- She's good.

Kristy Lee Cook- She's absolutely gorgeous! I thought she was good.

Amanda Overmyer- HOLY S@*T! What the???? Seriously with the hair? So bad! Goodbye Amanda and good riddance!

Alaina Whitaker- Why is she forgetable to me? She's got a great voice though.

Alexandrea Lushington- I like her style. Didn't love the song. Good voice.

Kady Malloy- Huh? What was with the outfit and everything? It was just not good. I actually like this girl but she might be leaving us. She always looks high or tired.

Asia'h Epperson- Does she want to look 40? She also looked like a drag-queen a little. She lost it at first but caught it by the end.

Much better than last week but still waiting for someone to give me the "feeling."
Predictions: Goodbye to Amanda, Kady, Danny N, Jason Y

Feb 26th Idol

Here's my 2 cents for tonights "Boys." The way I judge them is

1st- Can they sing?
2nd-Would I buy their album or attend their concert because they are interesting?

Michael Johns- Eh....Not great. He's "charming" as Paula said

Jason Castro- Seriously, I have a huge crush on this kid. I actually thought he was good. I just wish he would have done a more interesting song.

Luke Menard- GAG ME!!! Can't stand this guy! Could be a goodbye.

Robbie Carrico- Forgetable again, but he did good. Glad he didn't wear the bandana but it looked like he zig-zag parted his hair on purpose.

Danny Noriega- Seriously, he is so ANNOYING! I don't like his tone and I would never buy his album. He sounds like a cruise ship entertainer. Goodbye Danny!

David Hernandez- I am developing a crush on this one. He is HOT and amazing! I just wish he wouldn't do the annoying things with his eyes. Kinda weird though because he looks like my boyfriend from my senior year, Ryan Lund.

Jason Yeager- Who the HELLen cares that you "self-taught" yourself? Who hasn't? He says he "self-taught" about 10 times! Nice tight black pants too. Donny Osmond again! Goodbye Jason!

Chikezie- He was actually really good tonight. His front teeth bug me. I know that's petty. I don't think he can win but I don't mind him as much anymore. He's pretty entertaining.

David Cook- Still with the hair! Good voice though. I liked the guitar too. What's with the scarf in the back pocket? Like he's trying to be rock. You are or you aren't. I guess we'll see. Chris Daughtry didn't ever "try" to be rock. He just was and he was insane!

David Archuletta- Chills! I'm so glad to see an "underdog" get through that can actually sing. Cough (Kevin Covais, Kelly Pickler.) There was actually one on Season 5 too that was amazing. Elliot Yamin. David was amazing.....as for right now, he might be the AI Season 7 winner. What a great song too. My all-time absolute favorite....John Lennon. Sigh.

Pretty wordy. Sorry. I just love this show! It's good to see that they are talented. The first week was just bad. That's what separates the good from the bad....nerves.

I also found this online. It's the girl's songs for Wednesday!
1. Carly Smithson – “Crazy On You” by Heart
2. Syesha Mercado – “Me And Mr. Jones (changed from Mrs. to Mr.) by Billy Paul
3. Brooke White – “You’re So Vain” by Carly Simon
4. Ramiele Malubay – “Don’t Leave Me This Way” by Thelma Houston
5. Kristy Lee Cook – “You’re No Good” by Linda Ronstadt
6. Amanda Overmyer – “Carry On My Wayward Son” by Kansas
7. Alaina Whitaker – “Hopelessly Devoted To You” by Olivia Newton-John
8. Alexandrea Lushington – “If You Leave Me Now” by Chicago
9. Kady Malloy – “Magic Man” by Heart
10. Asia’h Epperson – All By Myself by Celine Dion

And Danny Noriega is the "vote for the worst" pick. HAHAHAHAHA!

American Idol follow up

After watching American Idol from my DVR, I've had a chance to really watch the performances and make new decisions. The problem is that the contestants don't have that much time. They have to WOW people the first time or they won't get the vote. Most people don't/won't/can't go back to watch them a second time. Here are my 3 favorite guys. The girls are still fighting because I haven't been wowed yet by any of them....yet.

I just wanted to post before tonights show. I had a couple of comments to add.

Boys

David Hernandez- Great voice! Didn't love the song. Very cute too!

Chikezie- What the crap is that all about? Hated the whole thing!

David Cook- What the YELL is up with his mullet thing? Okay, if you're going bald, just own up to it. Don't try to hide it by using your 4 strands of hair you have left as long and whispy bangs in front. I do like his voice though. Kinda bugs

Jason Yeager- I didn't know Donny Osmond could try out. YUCK!

Robbie Carrico- Forgetable but good voice. Not loving the bandana thing. Does he think he's Brett Michaels?

David Archuleta- LOVE HIM!!!! So stinking cute and amazing! I think he might win the whole thing.

Danny Noriega- I also didn't know that girls could disguise themselves as boys to be in the Top 24. He is so gay! I can't stand guys that take more time on their hair than me!

Luke Menard- What the gay Hugh Jackman is going on? Can't stand him! Terrible singer!

Colton Berry- Wyatt Darling? Oh nope, it's Colton. AWFUL!

Garrett Haley- Nice 1/2 mustache. Seriously, are the judges deaf AND blind?

Jason Castro- I actually REALLY like him. I might have a little crush, okay a big crush. Love the dreads too. Very Lenny Kravitz. Yum!

Michael Johns- I LOVE HIM! He is awesome.

I guess it helps to be named David or Jason huh? Okay....now on to the girls. I am usually harder on them because they should be incredible!

Kristy Lee Cook- Absolutely gorgeous! I think she can be better. I actually like her.

Joanne Borgella- Ick! It was bad!

Alaina Whitaker- I think she could be good too with a little time. Cute too.

Amanda Overmeyer- Oh my heck! This was so bad! What is the beehive all about?

Amy Davis- ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME??? Flat the entire time. I may boycot the show because people like her make it! I had to fast forward because it was so bad!!!!!

Brooke White- Beautiful! I love her hair. Not my favorite. Hopefully she can pull it out. Extremely uncoordinated too. Does she wear garments because her belly was showing?

Alexandrea Lushington- Sounds like every other girl in past seasons. She didn't belt. She just used her head voice and that bugs me.

Kady Malloy- I think this girl has potential. Hopefully she does better this week.

Asia'h Epperson- I think she's a good singer but I hate it that she doesn't annunciate her words. IE: "Taking evry ittle iece of my art now aby."

Ramielle Malubay-Yuck! Pageant song? Good singer though.

Syeshia Mercado-Didn't love the song but she is really good. Can't wait to see if she wears a scarf. She seems to always have a scarf on. Weird?

Carly Smithson- Her mouth does weird things when she sings. It reminds me of our family's pet turtle, Touche. He died with his mouth open like she sings. She was also flat a couple of times but I think she could be amazing. Sounds a little like Christina (my absolute favorite!)

That's just my two bits. I can't wait to watch tonight. Go Jason (Castro), David (Archuletta), and Michael! Love them!

The Oscars

Who cares? We watched them. Big deal. The best thing about them, Jon Stewart! There was only 2 movies mentioned that I have actually seen. Enchanted and Ratatouille (tells you I'm a mommy eh?) I would like to see Juno though. It's hard to get into it when all 5 movies for Best Picture are Rated R and on average 4 out of 5 nominated for Best Actor and Actress are from R rated movies. It's just not interesting when you don't have a clue. That's me. I guess...I'm clueless.

American Idol

Is anyone else watching America Idol? What is up with the talent this year? I am still waiting to see someone who blows me away. I do like the kid from Murray. Not just because he's from Utah and LDS. That kid can SING! However, he's not the "whole package." There's not really any girls that are that great. Every time during the "Best of the Rest" stage, I wonder what the HECK the judges were thinking. Why are they picking these people and WHY DIDN'T I TRY-OUT? If this is the best they can find, I think I have a shot. Not really. I am totally kidding but wow, it's pretty bad.

At least Garrit, Amy, Joanne, and Coltin are gone.

Next week to go: Chikezie, Danny, Amanda, and Alexandrea

Week after that to go: Jason, Luke, Aliana, Kady

This stage in the show reminds me of walking past the karaoke bar in Las Vegas and hearing a tone-deaf drunk person singing. Best talent so far? I dunno, Kelly Clarkson and Chris Daughtry are hard to beat. Not to mention Carrie Underwood.

Does anyone watch Lost? I have a love/hate relationship with that show. What the freak is going on? Seriously????

My randomness

I liked Natalie's randomness so here's mine:

Noah and AnnaBelle have been sick for almost a week now. I am ready for that to end. Luckily Des hasn't gotten it yet.

I have the Miss Lehi Mother's Tea this weekend. I also am volunteering at Hutching's Museum on Friday. There's a lot going on and Noah thinks he's going to Saint George for the home show. He knows it's a bad weekend for me so unless he wants the "wrath," he better stay home.

Chaquita is such a cute dog. We love having her in our family. Tica is not so trilled with her joining our family.

I have watched more movies this week because of my family being sick. Here are the movies I have watched:

Failure to Launch- thumbs up
Catch and Release- thumbs kinda down
Music and Lyrics- thumbs kinda up
Hairspray- thumbs way up
Mean Girls- Ummm......my favorite movie ever! (I've seen it many times but re-watched it this weekend) Thumbs UP UP UP!
Hitch- another favorite

That's a lot of movies! Unfortunately, I am still in lock down because of the sickness that is still lurking so if you have any suggestions for movies, I'd love to hear them or even books.

Oh and, 2 weekends ago, we went to "Fool's Gold." I am just warning you, DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE! If you ignore this and see it.....I warned you! Easily in my top 5 worst movies ever (Pirates 3 is up there too. So boring!)

What happens in your day

I got this idea from my cousins blog- This is typical Tuesday and Thursday. Mon, Wed, Fri are different

What did you do today?
Desi woke up @ 7:30, now I am on the computer doing this and watching Today. AnnaBelle will wake up around 9:00. If she doesn't on her own, I will wake her up because she has pre-school at 9:15. She is really excited because it's Valentine's Day and she's giving her homemade Valentines we made last night. I will get her a quick breakfast, usually a granola bar or fruit cup today. Other days it's either a waffle, oatmeal, or hot cereal. Then she will go to school and I will wait for my sister to come over. While our girls are at school, my sister and I work. We will do something like make headbands, fill orders, or organize. I am going to the UPS store before I wake up AnnaBelle. Noah is still here so he will watch them while I go. The girls are done with school at 11:45. One of us picks them up and they come here for a while until we're done with work. I have to go to a scrapbook store today to buy blank cards to send out invitations to our Miss Lehi Pageant workshop. Then one of my voice lesson students is in a school talent show today so I may go watch depending on when it is (her mom will call me.) Then I have to make the invitations, label them, and send them. Then I teach theater today at the arts center from 4:00-6:30. Noah usually is here which is really nice that they don't have to come with me. AnnaBelle is in the show that practices from 4-5 so she comes with me and then goes home while I teach the other class from 5-6:30. After theater, it's home, dinner, and bed for the girls. Then Noah and I will probably watch our shows (Apprentice and Lost tonight) and then it's bed around 11:00. I will let you know if something changes. :)
-Now I want to know what you do during the day

Birthday pics and Chaquita

Here are some pictures of Desi's birthday she had a great time playing in her cake. I have also included pictures of our new dog, Chaquita. She's such a cute dog!

AnnaBelle and her new doggies

Cutie!

Birthday girl! She dove right in!

This needs a little explanation. One day I was watching t.v. and I heard AnnaBelle talking in the bathroom. I thought that was odd that she was talking to herself and I knew she was going potty. I went in there and this is what I found. Her sitting on the toilet reading her workbook from pre-school. I asked her what she was doing and she said "I'm reading a magazine. Just like you and daddy do when you go potty." :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DESIREE AND JOHNNY!

Wow! 1 year ago, we were blessed with the sweetest baby ever! My emotions are running a little high right now. I can't believe that my sweet little baby is 1 year old. It seems like just yesterday she was born. She has been one of the greatest blessings given to me. I love her so much and thank my Heavenly Father for her daily.

Oh and...Happy Birthday Johnny! Desiree came to us on his birthday. I guess she's following in her uncle's footsteps. That's where her dimples come from. Let's hope she inherets his great personality too. Maybe without crossing the line so often though. J/K!!!! Happy Birthday Bro!

Disclaimer**** I forgot to wish "the best sister in the world" Happy Birthday on the 5th. Happy Birthday Wendy. I love you and miss you so much!!!! Maybe Desi will inheret her amazingly beautiful looks because their birthdays are so close. :)

Happy Birthday Natalie!

Happy Birthday Natalie. Hope it was a good one! I was due one year ago today. AHHH! Love ya!

Our Beloved Prophet

When I was 8 years old, I sent a letter to President Ezra Taft Benson about a right choice I made. A few days later, a had a letter from the Prophet, telling me how proud he was of my "choosing the right." I cherished that letter for many years and when he passed away when I was 14, I was devistated. I felt like I had this bond with him because of that letter.

Recently, I have been feeling the same feelings. A little more than 6 years ago, I sent a letter to President Hinckley and his dear wife Marjorie, inviting them to attend our temple sealing (I also sent an invitation to our wedding to President Bush but I never got a response.) A few days later, I received the following:

Gordon B. Hinckley
President
January 23, 2002

Miss Ashley Revill
Mr. Noah Kimball McKinnon

Dear Sisiter Revill and Brother McKinnon:

Sister Hinckley and I are in receipt of your wedding announcement and take this opportunity of sending our congratulations to you. We regret that we will be unable to be with you on this special occasion.

We pray that your lives may be filled with much of happiness, with love and appreciation one for another.

May this mark the beginning of a journey that will be fruitful of great joy through all the years that lie ahead.

Sincerley,

Gordon B. Hinckley
(and he signed it)

For some reason, our temple sealer said to us as we were walking into the sealing room, that the Prophet wishes he could be here today. I am not sure if that is something that is always said or not, but it made me feel that maybe he was thinking about us that day. It makes me feel like we are destined for something greater than what we are worthy of now. This makes me want to change myself. Be a better mom, a better wife, but most importantly, a better daughter of God.

Since receiving that letter some 6 years ago, I have felt a bond with the Prophet. It has been hard on me to move forward, but we will go forward. As President Hinckley once said:

"Forget yourself and go to work!"

I love that man!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Well 6 years! Can you believe it? 02-02-02. I can't believe 6 years ago we were freezing to death in 8 degree weather but we didn't care because we were getting married!!!

Yesterday Noah and I went to Sundance. We got a little cabin room there. It was so much fun to just be together. It was nice and secluded and quiet. We had a great time. Then today we went to breakfast at the grill there then we went snowboarding. It was great! I haven't been in a while because I was pregnant last year and just haven't been this year. While we stopped for lunch at the Bear Claw lodge at the top of the mountain, we saw Robert Redford come in. We smiled at him. I am sure he gets irritated with people. Later on, while we were getting on a lift, we saw him again. Noah was tempted to jump on the lift with him but he didn't want to leave me. :) Oh...how sweet. I told him he should have and then they could've talked. We tried to follow him but he was on skis and we had to hook up after getting off the lift so we lost him. Noah did tell him that he liked the resort though. There was no response. Oh well.

It was such a great anniversary. My grandma died a year ago yesterday. If you can imagine, our 5 year anniversary was not celebrated because of that and the fact that I was 10 months pregnant. :) I miss my grandma so much! She was such an amazing and hilarious person. I miss her humor and her sweet letters and phone calls. Not a day goes by that I don't think about her. She left such a great legacy. I love you Grandma Revill!!
